And make sure that your list covers the whole range of pricings as well, from the economy prices to the very expensive prices. People who are planning a wedding usually don’t have money trees and so they will like to be lavish on some things, but save on others.
While it will be valuable for people in your community to have all this information in one place, you’ll want to do more than merely making a directory with contact information for the companies. You want to add more value so that people have a reason to give you good word of mouth advertising, and so that they will come back in the future.
One of the biggest things that you can do would be to post what the company sells and for how much. And if you can’t do that, at least hyperlink to their website. You can also get background information on the companies, and include that. They get relatively cheap publicity and you get paid for hosting them. If you are extra ambitious, you could even set up a tiered system of featuring different companies in various locations on your site and charge more money for the featured listings on your site.
